Free UofG Course on Pandemics

Retirees are eligible to register for this free course along with the alumni community. When this course was offered previously the registration filled up VERY quickly! Please Note: Registration closes December 22 at 3 pm. Pandemics: Culture, Science, and Society (UNIV*2020) has been created to foster knowledge of the current global COVID-19 pandemic as well as past pandemics that had far-reaching impacts on communities around the world. Its multidisciplinary and collaborative approach will blend expertise from all U of G colleges.

Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic we will not hold our annual general meeting in June.  Instead, we will be holding a Zoom AGM in September.

CANCELLED - UGRA Spring Forum 2020

Due to the present and on-going COVID-19 situation we will be cancelling our annual Spring Forum.  This is in compliance with government and university policies instituted to help mitigate the spread of this perverse virus.  We were so looking forward to our Spring Forum where we would have heard from Mike Von Massow, OAC Chair in Food Systems Leadership,and what he has to say about Animal Welfare and Food Waste.  You can check out his food website at: http://www.foodfocusguelph.ca/.

Fall Forum 2019

This year’s Fall Forum brings us fascinating dips into the past by way of two speakers: The Season’s Greetings, presented by Tom Reitz, Retired Manager and Curator, Waterloo Region Museum will be tapping into our Christmas nostalgia.   He’ll be sharing mages from his extensive collection of photographic postcards to illustrate Christmas decorations in homes, churches and schools of the early 1900s.

More than 30 UGRA retirees and their spouses or partners will be heading for China for another exciting adventure.  Nexus Holidays will guide them from Shanghai to Beijing and back over the course of seventeen days.  Stay tuned for pictures and the exciting report.
