University of Guelph Nutrition Study in Older Adults

Older adults (60+ years) are needed for a beans and beef nutrition study in the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph (Professor Alison Duncan).  

This study involves: 

  • 1 screening visit (30-45 minutes at the University of Guelph) 
  • 1 orientation visit (30-45 minutes can be done by Zoom if preferred) 
  • 3 study visits at the University of Guelph each lasting 4 hours separated by at least a 1-week break.  At each study visit you will: 
  • consume breakfast tortilla bake containing either red kidney beans, black beans or extra-lean ground beef 
  • complete 1-page questionnaires periodically over 3 hours while relaxing in a quiet area (you can read or work on your computer)  
  • consume an unlimited pizza lunch 
  • record your food and beverage intake for the rest of the day
