With countries around the world implementing various lockdown restrictions in order to curb the spread of infection, Millions of individuals and especially older people have been left alone in their homes with few opportunities for social or physical interaction. This is particularly troubling as research have linked social isolation and loneliness to higher risks for a variety of serious health conditions including: high blood pressure, heart disease, anxiety, depression, cognitive decline, dementia and even death.
