Academics Without Borders (AWB) call for volunteers by July 20, 2022
AWB seeks volunteers to assist in the design and delivery of a training program for mentors of early career researchers in Ugandan universities.
This project will be carried out in collaboration with two Ugandan-based organizations, Network for Education and Multidisciplinary Research Africa (NEMRA) and East Africa Scientific Research Network (EASRN).
Initially, the volunteer(s) will work online in collaboration with NEMRA and EASRN to identify the specific needs of early career researchers in Uganda through a needs assessment survey.
Depending on the results of the needs assessment, the volunteer(s), NEMRA, and EASRN will develop a workshop to encompass various topics related to mentorship in academic writing and publication including, but not limited to, research design and analysis, English for academic writing, preparation of manuscripts for publication, grant writing, and research management.
We are looking for 1 or more volunteer(s).
Applicants should have a PhD with a significant publication record in their field and experience in graduate student supervision. Applicants with experience in mentoring early career researchers are especially encouraged to apply.
Application deadline: July 20, 2022
