The McGill University Retiree Association is honoured to host the
CURAC 2021 VIRTUAL ASSEMBLY
Thursday, April 15, 2021, 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Each year, the College and University Retiree Associations of Canada (CURAC) holds
a conference that is hosted by a member association. The McGill University Retiree
Association (MURA) was scheduled to host the 2021 conference as part of the McGill
University Bicentennial celebrations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be
offered as a Zoom webinar. Simultaneous French translation will be available for this event.
To coincide with the pandemic and the world-wide medical focus of this past year,
MURA is offering a talk Nature and Nurture: How early life experience changes
our DNA narrative. Prominent McGill medical researcher, Dr. Moshe Szyf is renowned
in the field of epigenetics, the study of how behaviours and environment can cause
changes that affect the way your genes work. Unlike genetic changes, epigenetic changes
are reversible and do not change your DNA sequence, but they can change how your
body reads a DNA sequence.
This free event is open to all members of CURAC Retiree Associations and their friends and
colleagues. For a full program and registration information, go to:
On behalf of MURA and CURAC, we look forward to gathering (albeit) virtually with you at
this annual event. If you have any questions, please email: mura-arum.association@mcgill.ca [2]
